2020 Lothar Strüder becomes MAS Fellow

The Mircoanalysis Society has inducted Lothar Strüder as Member of the Class of 2020 MAS Fellows [1]. This honor is conferred for his outstanding leadership and sustained contributions to development and commercialization of the Silicon Drift Detector for energy-dispersive spectroscopy.

MAS Fellow is a designation that is intended to recognize eminent scientists, engineers, and technologists in the field of microanalysis of materials and related phenomena who have distinguished themselves through outstanding research and service to the microanalysis community [2].

Lothar Strüder founder and former CEO of PNSensor GmbH is Professor at the University of Siegen. Only last year, he received the 2019 Glenn F. Knoll Radiation Instrumentation Outstanding Achievement Award from the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society [3].
